There are many injuries in traffic happening everyday in Turkey due to the lack of helmet usage and unconsciousness. Our goal was to increase the awareness of helmet usage and to help people with acknowledging the high risk that they are putting their lives into.

We drive in traffic filled roads every day, and every day, we encounter many problems. In the region we live in, one of these many problems we face derive from roundabouts. In our project we want examine the common mistakes and make people aware of the correct use of roundabouts.

BE THE CHANGE TAKE THE CHALLENGE is a project developed by students at Gülüç İbrahim İzmirli Anadolu Lisesi,Karadeniz Ereğli ,TURKEY. In our project, we focused on the safety rules for cycling and tried to raise awareness on traffic rules and signs for cyclists.

It's obvious that in today's society, road safety is a huge issue both for drivers and for pedestrians. Car crashes that happen in Turkey are mostly due to the use of technology while driving or walking. These are the risky and irresponsible behaviors which we should avoid. Our project covers both sides of the story and tries to raise awareness of road safety, first in our community and later globally.

We, as a team, would like to save lives. We tried to create an awareness campaign in our middle school (for 325 students) for two main ideas: road safety for pedestrians and responsible behaviors while riding a bicycle.

We wanted to raise awareness of the problems faced by disabled people in traffic by making a short film and showing it to the citizens in Istanbul and to our friends in our school. We thought that there is something which is very important but ignored in traffic. And we called it "the problems of the disabled". 

We are 5 students studying in 11 IB in Gazi University Foundation Private High School and we want to raise awareness about safety in traffic. We were interested in this issue and talking about it in the class and when our teacher informed us about this project, we decided to take a part in it to make our ideas come to life by this way.

We decided to focus on the issue by analyzing the environment around our school and the neighbouring schools. Our mission is to reduce 'turn-signals neglecting' and to raise awareness.

This is the 3rd time our school participates in this competition.We are 15 students of 9th grade and we were the project team this year and this was our first time participating in an International Project. We have worked 2 hours per week for the project .We have had a lot of ideas for the competition and finally we decided to prepare a public spot in which we wanted to draw public attention for exceeding speed limits.The video has been showed to all students at school.

Road safety is very important as we all need to know how to behave safely as drivers, pedestrians or travelers. Once we knew about the project, we got together and discussed about the possible project ideas. Since everybody is using the road in front of the school, we agreed to do something related with it. 

One of our students died because he was not wearing the seatbelt and our project aims to be a homage to him and also a way to use this sad loss to share the message on how important it is to use seatbelts.

We wanted to emphasize upon the recent common cause of traffic accidents: using smartphones while driving or crossing the streets for pedestrians. We wanted to raise awareness throughout a short film and a presentation about it.

There is a mobility problem around our school due to the reckless drivers who exceed speed limit or use mobile phone at the wheel. We shot an enjoyable video to underline our requests to adults.

We have created an initiative to raise the awareness of the primary school students in terms of traffic rules and responsible behaviors which they need to obey when they go to the school. We created the parents’ awareness for responsible behaviors.

Heroines of Traffic are the mothers of our future and hardworking ladies of our country. The team has been an agent of change by identifying community matters, developing action plans and proposing public policy with their active involvement.

Our objective with this project is to emphasize the importance of yellow lines for handicapped people who experiences difficulties in traffic and how they are continuously violated and neglected.

We designed a safe cycling path which connects 29 high schools in Historical Peninsula of Istambul to encourage the use of bikes which is desperately needed in our city.

We composed a song oriented and an animation film for preschool and elementary school kids giving messages about road safety and we made presentations in several schools in a playful way to capture children's attention and facilitate their learning

One of the biggest problems in road safety, speeding, greatly increases the risk of accident. It is a key factor in around 30% of fatal road accidents.

Traffic has always been a problem for Turkish citizens. After finding out the gap of knowledge about the signs, rules and traffic consciousness at school, we decided to point out the mistakes and educate our friends about signs and rules to save ever.
