The Road Safety Club at Saint Joseph School is a unique club that serves to help and improve our community. Our main mission was to raise awareness, among the 3S students (17-18 years old), of the danger of driving to prom.

Road accidents and crashes have become a major problem in the Lebanese society. Annual reports reveal that many people of all ages have been killed or injured. This has incurred tremendous problems on the families and society.

The future advocates of Road Safety are the youth who struggle daily to protect themselves and their surroundings from road accidents. Our project this year targets our school. Our challenge: to provide safe road crossing for our students.

We devoted hours trying to think of ways to improve the future by expanding the knowledge of 3rd graders about road safety using fun ways. Third graders got the opportunity to learn by PowerPoint presentations, a full day of activities, and flyers. 

Our story contains a link to the video we made, as well as the PowerPoint we created, to educate the students in the region. We have also added the poster we designed with the basic guidelines for road safety, plus our ideas and initiatives.

The Road Safety Club at Saint Joseph School is a unique club that serves to help and improve our community. Our main mission was to rehabilitate and fix a road that leads to the main entrance of the Rosary School at Cornet Al Hamra.

G12 students took back the street next to the school. They planned 3 actions: constructing a sidewalk to make the street safer; organizing an annual Green street festival in collaboration with the municipality; and guaranteeing its sustainability.

Together we worked and discussed road safety issues in our community. We did research and had presentations from the KUN HADI organization. Since we didn't have the proper signs next to our school, we bought seven signs and installed them there.

Awareness campaigns have been launched to prevent children's deaths during accidents. However, the crucial role of child safety inside the car has never been highlighted - and that's what the JM Road Safety team planned to do.

The streets of Lebanon are very beautiful, connecting various villages of different cultures. However, they lack an essential element for proper safety ‒ bus stops.

The aim of our project was to highlight the importance of creating safe areas for cyclists to use. We decided on the idea due to the fact that hundreds of accidents are caused by a lack of safe biking areas in our country.

The recent implementation of a new and improved traffic law in Lebanon in 2015 provided the nation's drivers some hope, but the JM Team knew that awareness about the law, one person at a time, was the first step towards following it!

This project defines road safety and provides tips that younger students should learn in order to stay safe on the roads. Grade 8 students, presented their work through PowerPoint presentations and construction projects.

Our project highlights the importance of road safety precautions while crossing the roads around school areas. Our aim is to raise awareness in the neighboring schools on the importance of road safety while crossing to and from school.

A group of IB1 students cooperating with the Ministry of Transportation and a local NGO, Kunhadi, to raise awareness about traffic issues, install the latest road technology on our school campus, and manage the flow of car congestion.

The number of child fatalities caused by road crashes around the world is shameful. The most recent statistics in Lebanon show that around 13% of those who died in car crashes were children. Joining talents to save their lives! Action, watch, sign.

Road safety is the responsibility of all citizens whether they already drive or not. In collaboration with Kunhadi, and funded by Tiny but Mighty, a small team of students was able to improve the condition of a road in our school area.

The road safety team brainstormed road safety issues in the surrounding community as community service members, utilising all possible resources, identifying the real issue, and carrying out several activities to fund their actions.

Lebanon has a terrible record for traffic accidents, but the students at the Jesus and Mary School don’t get discouraged. They get to work - one road at a time!

Traffic accidents are a serious problem in Lebanon, and the students of Houssam Eddine Hariri High School and their families do not want to endure another tragedy – young people lose their lives each year on Lebanese roads.
